Full Swing Golf RI partners children with physical needs with golf professionals and physical therapists to teach them the game of golf. The children learn the mechanics related to their challenges, the correct approach for them, and they receive personalized, one-on-one attention. The end result is that the children who participate have a brighter outlook for themselves and their future. Children with physical needs have a hard enough time adjusting, not only to their physical limitations, but also to social stigmas. Golf gives children confidence and provides a recreational outlet to get them “back in the game”.
Full Swing Golf RI started in 2013 as a student leadership project by Paula Kleniewski, Jillian Rebello, and Kayla Whiting. The event has grown in scope and is now taking place twice per year! The spring event, which is being sponsored by Secured Network Services, takes place on Saturday, June 11th at 10:30 am. The fall event will be taking place on Saturday, September 10th at 10:30 am. Both events are free for participants and will be held at Button Hole Golf Course in Providence, RI!
Parents can visit www.surveymonkey.com to sign their child up for one, or both, events!
