Norfolk, the English county I know and love so well, has some of the finest cliff top golf courses in the UK. They are not only challenging to play on, but the scenery is lovely… and uniquely English. And if you come on a golfing vacation to Norfolk, as my guest, I’ll also build into your itinerary visits to wonderful historic houses, beautiful gardens, its glorious coastline, the little known tranquil and utterly enchanting inland waterways known as the Broads, churches going back 1,000 years, pretty country villages with traditional pubs and characterful hotels, elegant Georgian towns and Norwich, its famous capital city with its centuries’ old castle and world famous Norman cathedral. These treasures of Norfolk will make it an unforgettable vacation.

I’m starting a business which makes you my guests in this wonderful county, so I’ll ensure you have a visit that is hassle free, matches the locations and experiences to your individual requirements, makes the best use of your time, ensures you get value for money and lets you enjoy this most fantastic part of old England as if you lived here. You’ll be at the right place at the right time for the right cost.

My ideal guests will be discriminating, educated, cultured and golf-loving Americans. Apart from these qualities, your race, sexuality, religion and gender is not at all important though good humour and courtesy is. It’s probably best you travel as a couple or two couples who get along well enough to enjoy the same sort of golf vacation together.

The minimum length of time you should choose to be my guests here is seven days, and ten days is probably a sensible maximum. Once we make contact via email and Skype, and we confirm dates and your choices, I will organise your itinerary, making the necessary bookings.

When you arrive, I will pick up your group from the airport, or from Norwich rail station if you want to experience a two hour journey from London on the British rail network. I’ll drop you and your luggage at the selected hotel…there’s a link to some amazing hotels below. And then, every morning, I’ll pick you up and take you in comfort and safety to the places we’ve agreed match your personal requirements, whether that means spending most of your time playing golf, or including trips to English castles, Saxon churches, isolated beaches, pretty villages and country pubs to sample top class local beers, Scotch whisky and fresh food.

This informality means your vacation will be totally relaxed and flexible, so if you want to change your schedule, have more time to rest, eat at different restaurants, play another round of golf instead of visiting a castle, sample more local beer and food, spend an extra day on a Broads’ cruise, that’s fine.

I’ll do all I can to ensure you have a vacation you will talk about for years to come…and tell your friends about, so they too can be my guests.

I did say it’s a business. You pay £50 (roughly $75) per day per person, payable on the last day. And if some days fall short of your expectations, so does the fee. So you can see why I want you to have a fantastic time.

If this sounds appealing (better still if you want to be my first guests) let me know  and we can discuss the details of where you want to go and when.

Here are links to just some of the attractions awaiting you next summer. The English summer starts in early May and finishes in mid September, and virtually all these are open throughout this season. Be my guest!

About me

All you need to know is that I’m a young 60 year-old, a former journalist and government employee with a love of Norfolk, a lot of energy and a huge desire to give my guests a great vacation in the part of England I love…and to make a little money for my efforts, and some friends too! I’m a decent squash player, so if you want a game or two when on vacation as my guest, that’s easy to organise. Oh, and my name is Paul Hensby. My email is [email protected]. Please contact me… it could lead to an unforgettable vacation.
