Connecticut National is a unique and challenging course that exemplifies the term “Target Golf.” Three years ago the owners of Connecticut National decided to create a course that is, in the words of golf director Jim West, “a links style course, but with a lot of trees.”
Meadowbrook Golf Course in Richmond is a perfect example. Meadowbrook was a flat course only 6,000 yards from the tips, and in need of a major renovation when it was taken over by the Hendrick family in 2006.
Cape Cod is a year-round destination for New England golfers, but it is 68 miles from one end of the Cape to the other and the traffic can be very trying. However, location is everything and The Brookside Club in Bourne certainly has everything.
Southeastern Massachusetts is a great place to live. It’s only a short drive north to Boston, or you can go south and hop over the canal to Cape Cod. In addition to its prime location, this region has a collection of great public golf courses. Here are a few of my favorites.
